Terms of service

The game

From the Logo is a daily NBA trivia game run by one person, an independent fan. It isn't affiliated with the NBA, its teams or its players. Player names and stats are facts used to make trivia prompts. Pick rates and scores are estimates that change as people play, and they lock at midnight Eastern.

Accounts

• You can play as a guest. A guest account lives on your device; if you clear your browser data, it's gone.
• You can make an account with an email and password, or with Google. Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what happens on your account.
• Usernames have to be decent: no impersonation, slurs or anything hateful. We can rename or remove accounts that break this, or that cheat (for example scripting picks or farming referrals with fake accounts).
• You can delete your account any time by emailing support@fromthelogo.io. Your past picks stay in the anonymous pick totals so other players' scores don't change, but they're no longer linked to you.

Unlimited: payment

• Unlimited is a one-time payment of $2.99 (plus any tax your country adds). There's no subscription and nothing renews.
• It unlocks the archive (replay past daily packs) and random practice packs on your account, for as long as the game runs. It doesn't change the daily pack or give anyone an advantage on it.
• You need an account with a confirmed email to buy. Payments are handled by Stripe (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay); we never see or store your card details.
• You can also unlock it for free by inviting 5 friends who make an account, confirm their email and finish their first daily pack. Self-referrals, duplicate or throwaway accounts don't count, and we can remove an unlock earned that way.

Refunds

Not happy? Email support@fromthelogo.io within 14 days of buying and we'll refund you in full, no questions asked. A refund removes Unlimited from your account (an unlock you earned through referrals stays). After 14 days we may still refund if something didn't work. If the game ever shuts down, we'll say so in the game at least 30 days ahead.

The fine print

• The game is provided as is. We try hard to keep it running and the answers right (use "Report a wrong answer" when we get one wrong), but we can't promise it'll never be down or never have a mistake.
• As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us.
• We may update these terms. If a change matters (for example to payments), we'll say so in the game before it applies. Nothing here takes away rights you have under your local consumer law.

Privacy policy

What we collect

• Your picks and scores: which player you named for each prompt, your score and your mode (easy or hard). This is the game: everyone's picks make the pick rates.
• Account details (if you make an account): email, username, and your Google name/email if you sign in with Google. Guests have only a random id.
• Referrals: who invited whom, so we can count friends who joined.
• Payments: that you paid, how much, when, and the email on the receipt. Stripe keeps the card details, not us.
• Reports you send about wrong answers, with your note.
• Visits: anonymous page counts (which page, the site that sent you, device type, country) through GoatCounter, without cookies and without tracking you across sites.

What we do with it

Run the game: score picks, show results, stats and streaks, keep your account and Unlimited working, catch cheating, and fix wrong answers. We don't sell or rent your data, and there are no ads or ad trackers.

Other people only ever see totals (how many people picked a player, the score curve) and your username if you share it. Your email is never shown to other players.

Who handles it for us

• Supabase: database and logins.
• Stripe: payments.
• Resend: sending account emails (confirmations, password links).
• Cloudflare: bot protection on sign-in (Turnstile).
• GoatCounter: anonymous visit counts.
• GitHub Pages: hosting the site.

They only use your data to provide their service to us. Some of them store it outside your country.

On your device

The game saves your packs, your login and a few settings (like easy/hard) in your browser's local storage so it works offline and remembers you. These aren't tracking cookies. Clearing your browser data removes them.

How long we keep it

Picks and scores stay for as long as the game runs (they're the game's history). Account details stay until you delete your account. Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires. Guest accounts that haven't played in a long time may be cleaned up.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account, by emailing support@fromthelogo.io. Wherever you live, we'll do that.

The game isn't meant for kids under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
